nothing new

This weekend was really relaxing. We just laid around on Saturday, went to the doctors for x-rays (everythings just on schedule), and had dinner. We also went to the PC Bang for some gaming. A PC bang is a room that has a bunch of computers and has computer games that you can play together. People are really crazy about them here especially the boys and older guys. Whenever we go we I'm usually the only girl! The people stay for hours. One guy actually died in a PC Bang for staying there for over 60 hours taking breaks for only bathroom breaks. It's crazy. Brian and I usually just stay about an hour or two at the most. We have fun, but not days worth of it! Then we went to go watch a DVD at a DVD Bang...we watched Gladiator. Sunday, we just hung around here, we didn't go to church b/c my foot was hurting. We went to a Boardgame Bang with our friends Gray and Amy and played Monopoly and went and had some supper at this great resaurant. It was a shabu restaurant. They bring out a big bowl and cook it in front of you....it's really thin sliced beef that cooks in the boiling soup with mushrooms, cabbage, and a bunch of other stuff. It was awesome. I want to go there again soon...maybe my birthday!

Well, Things are normal but great here.
Much love to all

A New Tradition

The great thing about being newly married is that we can start our own traditions for our family. Well, we've decided the first one (we think). Brian's birthday was on Monday and for his birthday all he wanted was to be able to eat birthday cake for breakfast. And we've decided to make this our Larsen Wells Birthday Tradition. For breakfast you can eat a piece of cake if you want...even when we have kids...now you cant have the whole cake! But i think it's a fun thing!

We got a package from Brian's family just in time on brians birthday! We got so many DVD's and were so excited. We've been watching the same 10 movies over and over, but they sent us some awesome ones! so THANKS TO THEM!!!! :)

well, that's all for now, I have my cast and am going to my lessons. I'm exhausted at the end of the day from the crutches but it's getting better i think!

Trying to be a strong dog.

So yeah, I've been trying to be strong. Yesterday I went to my lessons and it was aweful! I went by bus...this first was hard...getting on and off the bus. I'm not supposed to put ANY pressure on it. Yeah that was definitely out of the question yetserday! So i got a little frustrated and teary eyed on the way to the stop, but i stayed strong. The bus ride was fine. And getting to the first lesson was fine. The walk after I almost cried again, got to the next lesson and totally broke down in front of the mother of my students. She was so nice though, and made me feel much better. There's something about Korean hospitality that makes you feel better! So I got on the bus home and people were really nice, but when we got to my stop i about fell on the floor when the bus was stopping and almost fell out of the bus and slammed my foot down on the ground. By this point i'm almost in tears, but i can make it home right, just get a taxi and i'm home free. Well, this was the most difficult time i've ever had getting a taxi. The first taxi i found was a "Seoul Only" taxi so he wouldn't take me. Then there was a deluxe taxi, the first one wouldn't take me (i don't know why), so by this time the tears are falling down my eyes as i got into the taxi that finally took me home. It was a deluxe taxi too so it cost double, but i was ready to get home. Then I had the 6 stairs down to our apt. That was the end of it for me. Brian came out and helped me down but i couldn't help just bawling!
So all that to say, I am staying off of it til i get the real cast..right now i'm only in a wraping with a hard bottom...brace that's the word...brace. to prevent gangreen...mmmmmm....So maybe it'll be better on Saturday, b/c i really want to get back into working...

I'm ok now...just thought i'd give a little light into how i feel right now...a little broken down, a little beaten down. But now i'm home all day for 2 days, and a little bored, but it's better than crying on the way home from lessons!

Love you all

Yup...Broken leg

Yeah...i went to my lesson today, decided to tough it out and be a man about it...well, I left my first lesson almost in tears b/c it hurt so bad and decided that overreacting or not..i'm going to go to the doctor. And yup..It's broken. A fracture in my foot...but again with Korea's amazing health care...$40 for the visit...had to have acast and some crutches and 4 X-rays...then my Rx for pain pills was only $1.50.. lol...can you imagine!?! ANyway, so i have to go back in for more x-rays tomorrow. The brace I wear til saturday then a cast for 5 weeks...I can't believe i broke my foot from falling in our living room...

eh.
Anyway. I'm going to be staying off it all day tomorrow so write me an email and i'll be able to respond in full!

what a weekend

So on top of being sick...which thankfully has cleared up now... I fell really hard and awkward last night and think i may have broken my foot. I'm not sure. It hurts really bad but i can walk on part of it so i don't know if that means i just sprained it, but it's bad enough to where I'm dreading walking the 2 blocks down to the subway to go to my lessons. I think I'm going to buy a cane just to take some of the pressure off. If it doesn't feel better by tomorrow i think i'll go to the doctor. It's swollen and bruised. I dont' want to overreact but I also don't want to be walkin around with a broken foot! I dont' know...we'll see. But anyway, it's excruciating to walk across my apt. not to mention I have to travel about an hour to one of my lessons today.

I'm sad! :) But i got to talk to my mommy today, and Brian's Birthday is a week from today so i get to go do some shopping at some point in this week so i'm excited about that!

Well, i'mgoing to go get the day started...love you all!

Health Care in Korea

$10...need I say more? $10! With the insurance I went to the doctor for some ear problems and sore throat...the visit cost me about $7 and my Rx was about $2 including a cortozone shot! What is wrong with America that I can go to a specialist here (with out a recomendation as well) and get taken of for $10. Also, he (the doctor) told me that it was just allergies which i already knew i had bad allergies, but here you don't have to take a 75 shot test to find out WHAT you're allergic to (which I've done). But these are worse than any allergies i've had in America, I couldn't breathe all night and my throat is unbeleivably sore. But, They just said it's allergies heres a shot..come back if you need another!
I'm a little weird from the meds he gave me...and it's rainy here so i'm pretty much just resting and hope the meds kick in soon..
Anyway, I miss home, I miss music more than i thought i would. It's hard. But we're doin fine!
Much love to all

2 posts in one day!

Well, we just got back from church and finished lunch. I've actually learned how to cook some "traditional" Korean food. This is thick rice noodles, udong (fish and vegitable pancake), Quail eggs and sauce. It's incredibly spicy but Brian loves it. I think we're going to try to buy a bunch before we come home so that we can cook some for a bunch of y'all!
Lates.

Shopping finally!

Hey, yesterday we went up to Dongdaemun Market. It was outrageous how many blocks and buildings of just stuff! We got some really cool stuff for gifts! Don't worry mom, we didn't spend too much! There were soooo many shops, i've never seen anything like it. It was awesome. I forgot my camera which was a big dissapointment to me! We saw some really cool stuff, old ancient palaces etc. It was nice and cool outside, fall's definitely here. It took about an hour and a half by subway to get there, we walked around for about 2 and then headed back. We were supposed to meet some friends and go out dancing that night, but I wasn't feeling all that great. The more into Seoul you get, the more poluted it is. Seoul is surrounded by mountains so all the fuel polution and stuff gets trapped right above the city. My head usually hurts pretty bad when we get back...and it's pretty nasty when you blow your nose and it just comes out black! *a little too much info maybe but i want you to get the full picture!

Anyway, It's 11:11 on Sunday and church starts in at 12:00 so we better go get ready. Isn't that awesome...church at noon!!! and it's very close!
YAY!

Well, talk to you all soon.
